BPM 37093 Fourier Transforms

Fourier transform plot (1500 to 1900 microHz) of the BPM 37093 data chunks 1-106. This seems to be the most interesting part of the transform (see the multipanel plots below).

Prewhitening of the 1500 to 1900 microHz region using the BPM 37093 data chunks 4-106. The blue peaks might appear at first glance to be separated by the window width from others, but prewhitening seems to imply this is not so. The black arrows suggest an equally split grid of five modes, with an average frequency spacing of 13.37 microHz. This happens to be about 1/0.66 times the 8.82 microHz (average) splitting seen in two other pairs (see the table, below). It would be interesting to see if the run of amplitude vs. wavelength (from the HST data) is consistent with different l-identifications for the groups with 8.82 versus 13.37 microHz splitting. -Sean
